I used 2 low frequency operators (lfo) on a low pass filter (24db) on a generic pink noise sound with medium resonance settings, one of these lfo's was manipulating the other one with a random ramp, to make it sound more diverse and realistic. I put an aditional long envelope on the q (resonance) also, not to mention some chorus at a low tempo to make it kinda binaural with a stereo delay at a short time setting. . . I hope you enjoy it!.

This sound was recorded via the use of a behringer b2 microphone, fostex fr2 and a home made parabolic reflector made from a tv satellite dish. The source of the sound was between 100m-200m away from the microphone. This has been eq'ed with high-end shelving to reduce gain noise, low-end shelved up to 1khz (to reduce wind and background noise) and the overall gain has been increased. Here in the midwest we were treated to a nice preview of autumn here in the northern hemisphere. Both the temperature and humidity were nicely lower than usual and this soundscape was recorded featuring the beautiful northern breezes and a few of the birds that still live here. Since this ambience was recorded during the work-week, there are hardly any man-made internal combustion engine noises. Just the wind lifting and swirling through the tired forest and the blue jays, crows and insects. Recording made at 2:30pm on september 13 2022. Equipment used: recorder-sound devices 702microphones- left channel- sennheiser mkh 416right channel - sennheiser mkh 8070. The right channel, the very low-noise direction shotgun microphone, was pointed just about straight up at the leaves and branches of a huge cottonwood tree whose dry leaves were putting on a show. Ocean waves recorded from between two rocks. Recorded on a zoom h4 with the mics covered in zeppelin fur at 44100 hz 24-bit. There's some slight wind noise that can be filtered from 150hz downward. This is part of a series of recordings for an ambient music project i'm working on. There are some excellent ocean recordings on freesound if you're looking for a more traditional ocean sound, but my intent with these clips was to try to capture some natural phase-shifting by placing the h4 in cracks and crevices for a more hollow, "closed-in" sound.

Recording of a fairly boisterous stream near my house. It has a lot of motion due to the fact that a branch was caught on the bank of the stream which was being pulled about in different directions resulting in different rates of flow and a varying sound. Hi. This soundfile was recorded on 03. 06. 2017 in szczecin, nw poland (gumience district to be precise). The time of this recording is from around 3 a. M. (when the sun was allready rising) till around 7:30 a. M. What's funny about that, is that i turned my recorder on and layed it on the windowsill (display up) on altitude around 5 meters (first floor), (the recorder is facing ne direction) because the birds were allready going crazy!, and after some time i felt asleep, and the recorder was left on. There are many many kinds of birds around, cause there is a big cementery near by, with lots of trees, and some wild fruit orchard too. I had this one moment, when the birds were so active, that let's say they spinned it me around, and worked me up to a beautifull spiritual moment with their sounds, and then i felt asleep. Later through the recording you can hear me snoring, you can hear my alarm clock going on (and that haven't woken me up too;). The bass resonance of cars passing by makes this recording a bit heavy in some places, and the wind made it's mark too, but that shoudn't be a big of an issue here. As i listen to it now, so much things happened while i was asleep. . . [ 3:30 a. M. !: some people are singing and speaking, and you can clearly hear one of them saying: "kurwa, grubo", which means - "f**k, heavy". Later on, the neighbours weren't sloppy too;). Hearing such recordings doesn't give you the liminous feeling of the place where it was recorded. You only get audio here, not the vision, the light, the brightness, the movement, the actions, and the space, the physical elements, only the best can imagine (so if you don't have such an imagination, pm me and i can send you a photo of the place where all this took place). Anyway, i hope that the birds will keep rockin' their solos, and the bees will keep visiting all the flowers around forever! (who knows, i might become one of them sometime;). Recorded with a zoom h1 n. This is similar to rain-on-veranda-roof-and-window-glass. Wav except instead of recording on the window sill, the device is hand-held aloft in the middle of the veranda and closer to the ceiling. The rain on roof sound is louder and less rain can be heard striking the glass windows. It's a typical intense winter rain storm with wind gusts and driving rain in the month of january on vancouver island.

A recording made at 4:30pm on saturday september 12th 2015 near a playground in a small town. A cool front had recently passed bringing with sharper temperatures and northwest winds sifting through the still green cholorophyll-laden leaves. You hear the sound of children fairly low in the background as they enjoy the playground. True stereo recording made with maantz pmd661 and two sennheiser me-66 microphones mounted in tripods.

This was in our backyard and i have no idea why the birds were doing this. I couldn't see them in the thick bushes and i couldn't tell how many there were. The soundscape at the bottom of the dried moat of arundel castle in late spring. There's a strong breeze running through the trees, crows calling, an aeroplane, a couple of flies buzz past. I was laying in the sunshine about 10 meters away, falling asleep :). Sound devices mixpre3 and rode svmx, bit of low cut applied (60hz, 12db/oct) and a small amount of higher frequency boost to compensate for the wind cut i had fitted.

A short clip of a recording i made from my cbf600 motorcycle gearbox and chain. You can hear gearbox wine (normal), the sound of the chain running over the drive sprocket, some gear shifts and a little wind noise. I recorded it to see what it sounded like. It can make a good reference with which to compare should you think there is a problem in the future. I like the sound of the engine running and gears, normally drowned out by the exhaust. I clipped the mic to the gear lever. If i do it again i will place it further away from the sprocket.

I just love this deep rich harmonic sound with some phase modulation! i've tried to capture it the last month and half and finally managed it. There's quite a lot of air traffic (planes and helicopters) here in prague - písnice, but most of the helicopters have poor sound. First it approaches with the deep harmonic sound, then it flies by overhead with a more noisy mid-spectrum sound. I have built a nonlinearcircuits sloth lfo, the regular version. Sloth is a chaotic lfo. The output is based on the lorenz system. It is a system of ordinary differential equations. It is notable for having chaotic solutions for certain parameter values and initial conditions. In particular, the lorenz attractor is a set of chaotic solutions of the lorenz system which, when plotted, resemble a butterfly or figure eight (very much from wikipedia). The sloth has two outputs x and y. Think of them as coordinate pairs. The output will probably never repeat itself but there is a pattern. I have built the regular sloth it usually takes approx 15 seconds to make a rough figure 8, one cycle in the “butterly”. The knob changes the chaotic pattern. At some settings the signals will spend more time in one strange attractor than the other. Now i’m testing the module in different ways. In this sound i have connected white noise to a filter. The filter frequency is controlled by sloth (x output). In this patch i have set the initial frequency at 12 o'clock. . . The output sound from filter goes to reverb.

The sound of southampton water at around 5am on a bank holiday monday (national holiday). The microphone was placed right at the shoreline where the water meets the land. There are distant boats/ships, the oil refinery and a few sea birds. The wind was about 2 to 4 mph and that created some very small waves that can be heard lapping against the shore. Here's a recording of a small campfire in the forest at night made in saint-urbain (charlevoix) pq, canada in a night of august 2014. You can hear wind in the leaves and crickets in the background. It was made with a sound devices usbpre2 into a tascam dr-680 (spdif) and 2 microphones studio project c1 in ortf stereo pattern. A little correction was made in equalization of the sample and the volume was augmented w limiter. It's in 24 bits 96khz , 40hz low cut.

I accidentally recorded this sequence when i left my camcorder on while filming some drawing tutorials. My warehouse style studio is in the inner city at street level opening onto a street closure/park so you will hear some faint bird tweeting in the background. Near the beginning and end there is the sound of a large industrial sliding door and the loud clanging is a drop bolt on an external metal security grill gate. Wind blown chimes add to the scene. I only applied a very low level audio clean-up using adobe soundbooth cs3 to reduce hiss.

I recorded this at late night in a rural german area at summer, approximately 150 - 200 meters away from the party (the party took place on a big and open field). The wind was blowing away from the people towards me, which is the reason, why you can hear the people well, even though there were trees between the people and the recording micorphone. Mabe you can hear a few cars very far in the distance along with the near taxis, picking the people up to take them home, too.

Contact microphones are stethoscope-like mics that you place onto a surface to record vibrations. This way, i was able to record the raw engine without wind or perspective. The title is pretty self explanatory. There's a little bit of wind noise. ---two primo em172 mic capsules > zoom h1. I made this recording with my newly acquired $10 primo em172 omni mic capsules, which i soldered to a cable diy loosely based on this tutorial:http://www. Wildmountainechoes. Com/equipment/diy-stereo-electret-mics-primo-em-172-capsules/this is a good example of what the capsules sound like when plugged directly into an inexpensive zoom h1 audio recorder. So far i've been pretty stunned by the performance of these capsules, which are significantly more sensitive than the built in microphones on the h1, and to my ears sound much less muddy. I'm particularly impressed by this because the capsules are running on the 2. 5v of plug-in power that the h1 delivers, which is below the minimum specs of the capsules. Even so there is remarkably little noise. I can only imagine how they would sound with a battery pack to deliver a full 5 volts!.

I made this recording of ambient backgroud noise directly beneath the eiffel tower. The shape of the eiffel tower creates a unique acoustic environment in the vicinity of the tower, especially beneath it. You can hear a much higher level of background noise than you would hear in an open area, and the noise is unusual. The tower is made of thin pieces of iron arranged into a complex and very large lattice, which reflects and slices and dices sound in a unique way. Thus you have a high level of very even and unidentifiable background noise as noises from the ground and the platform get bounced around and distorted by the structure of the tower. This recording was made from the ground, with microphones pointed straight upwards about 2 meters off the ground. Noises from the ground travel upwards and bounce around the inside of the tower, then drift back down. There are noises in the tower itself as well, such as elevator motors and people on the platforms. The first platform, at 57 meters, is open in the center, whereas the second platform, at 116 meters, is completely closed and flat on the bottom. Wind moving through the tower also makes noise, and again the open structure of the tower changes the noise in a way that is specific to the eiffel tower. There wasn't much wind at ground level for this recording, but i don't know what the wind speed was at higher levels in the tower. Some voices in multiple languages are audible in the recording, as the area beneath the tower is awash in tourists. Recorded hand-held with a zoom h4n and a mini windjammer, using built-in mics, in stereo 96 khz / 24 bits, then converted to mp3 at 320 kbps because of the size of the file. Duration is about two minutes.

For stereo the>left-front + left-rear<and the>right-front + right-rear<channel was mixed to a left and right file.

A soundscape of several thunderstorms mixed together to create a uniquely immersive, full field recording. This editing process allows for rain and thunder strikes to be recorded at different volumes and creates a more diverse atmosphere with different types of rain, wind, and ambiance melded into one found sound. Although each storm was recorded in a slightly different location, everything is from the greater detroit, mi, usa area. -recorded entirely with a tascam dr-03 set at 48 k / 24 bit. Then each different storm was edited together in magix music maker. -this album version fades out with a simple, repeating synth line.

An excerpt from some in-car driving recordings i made with the windows wound down. My starting point is geotagged. I first turn right out of trail ridge court in streamwood, il, then wait to turn left at the intersection of schaumburg road and south sutton road. I then head north on il route 59. The car is a 1996 chrysler lhs 3. 5l v6 (note the recognizable sound of the creaky chrysler transmission as i slow to a stop). My recording setup was two audio technica at851a boundary mics, mounted upside down on the interior roof and facing out of the driver and passenger windows (with appropriate wind protection), running through a mixer into a zoom h4.
